Heart-centered Life Coaching — A path back to your Essential Self

What is it that calls your heart?  What makes your soul sing?  Have you quieted or denied your dreams to such a degree that you don’t even know the answers to these questions anymore?  Or do you feel so stuck or defeated by life that you no longer believe your dreams are possible? What tormenting thoughts keep you up at night?

I believe that each of us is here on this planet for a reason, and that reason is not just to bring home a pay cheque and save enough money so that when we retire we can finally do the things our heart and soul have always longed to do.

Getting unstuck / Coping with life changes

If you feel as though your life is crumbling all around you or that you are stuck in an endless rut and can barely even imagine a better life for yourself, take heart.  There is hope — a way to navigate the waves of change and a way out of this pattern of stuckness.

I’ve heard of too many instances where people patiently wait for retirement so that they can truly start living, only to discover that they or their spouse have been diagnosed with a serious illness, or something else happens that crushes those retirement dreams.

I’m here to remind you that your Essential Self — that deep, wise, soulful and incredibly peaceful part of yourself — always knows the best direction for your life.  It is always guiding you toward your perfect life and is always available to help you navigate life’s challenges.

If you’ve lost touch with that part of you that knows your unique purpose for being here, that knows how to help you move through life’s challenges and create your ideal life, then Life Coaching can help you find your way back to your Essential Self so you can begin living the life you have always wanted.

But my life is a mess and nothing can help me
Life Coaching

Are you putting on a happy face when you really feel miserable inside?

If you believe that your life is too messed up to ever be fixed and that there’s no hope for the future, I hear you.  I’ve been there myself.  Maybe you’ve experienced great loss and upheaval (such as the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a job, a home, your health, an animal companion, finances, opportunities, etc.).  Maybe you’re in chronic pain, or have suffered due to an injury or illness, or made decisions you deeply regret.  Maybe you’ve never felt as though you belonged or felt there was something inherently wrong with you.  If any of these apply to you or if your face aches from constantly putting on a happy face when you feel miserable inside, don’t lose hope.

It wasn’t until I started getting coached myself that I realized how entrenched I was in thoughts and beliefs about myself, others and my life — thoughts and beliefs that were, quite frankly, untrue.  Once I clearly identified and began examining and dissolving those faulty beliefs and thoughts, space began to open up for new and better possibilities in my life.  The same can happen for you.  Through a variety of life coaching tools, I can help you identify and navigate your way through the limitations in your life and create space for new possibilities.

“If you feel stuck in your present life, if you feel no enthusiasm for anything, if you think you have no purpose or that you lost that purpose somewhere along the way, I guarantee you are living in a dungeon made of stories–and that none of those limiting stories are true.”
– Martha Beck, Ph.D, Master Life Coach

Finding your Internal Navigation System

Polaris - North StarFor thousands of years, the North Star (Polaris) has been the steady, solitary point of light that has been used as a guiding star for sailors and astronomers.  It marks the way to due north and is a reliable gauge of North if you find yourself lost on a clear night without a compass.  If you know how to find the North Star in the northern sky, you will have a clear sense of direction, even on the darkest nights when there are no other landmarks in sight.

And so it is with your own North Star.  There is an inner knowing that is always guiding you toward your ideal life.  You may be out of touch with this inner knowing, but it’s still there.

Life coaching helps you tap into your own internal navigation or guidance system, so you can begin to make choices that steer you closer to your North Star or ideal life.  You’ll begin to read the signs that show when you are off course and be able to make the appropriate course corrections.  You’ll learn how to read your internal compass — conveniently built into your body — that always guides you toward your true path and that which is in alignment with your integrity.

How I Coach

Life coaching - steps

One of the big differences between the way I coach and other types of coaching is that I don’t start by forging ahead and setting goals with a client. Together we look at my client’s thoughts and belief systems, and work to dissolve what is holding my client back.  This helps clients access their own inner motivation and inner wisdom. I believe that each person has the key to their own right life within them.  My job as a coach is to help my clients access and act on that information and on their inner wisdom, not offer advice about what I think they should do.

For me, Life Coaching offers a place of respite when it feels like my world is crashing and burning around me.  It gives me a safe landing pad where I can regroup, figure out what happened and then move forward from a new place of clarity. And, most of all, it helps me stay connected with my integrity and with my Essential Self — that part of me that gently, kindly, wisely, patiently and continually guides me toward my own North Star.
